What a great 'pre' birthday!

EDIT
Often, I read back on my entries and think, 'What a copout'. I get lazy, and any writing integrity I have, well, leaves me, and I end up with a (for the most part) unintelligable, uninspiring and lacking entry. Not to mention my utter disregard for grammar and spelling. Most of the time I swear I'm dyslexic and it's simply easier to leave it lie.
So, of course seeing as I am so much more alert at close to 1am, I'm trying, for the second time round, to re-itreate what an AWESOME weekend I had in Sydney. Because I did.

Friday we set out on the town, armed with bundles of Purple Sneakers NYE flyers to hand out to (sometimes) unsuspecting members of the general public. We headed to the Excelsior where Killed to Birds were playing, along with some other bands.
Upon entering, we met the singer of Killed to Birds who happily chatted to us and gave us free cds when we mentiond we were helping out P/s tonight. We also got chatting to this guy Toby, and another guy Pep from Music Feeds which was I think, interesting. I sadly don't remember a whole lot about the conversations, but we did chat abit about promo work and my interest in it, and got some business cards and Bon seemed pretty keen to follow up on that. Also got a heap of photos so Bon told the singer of ktb she'd email them to him - considering I took most of them I think they will be pretty interesting! lol. So I chatted to a whole lot of different people and handed out a heap of flyers, we were talking to Mark from Sickboy about it all who thought it all sounded great, and I ended up chatting to him for quite a while after the gig - he was pretty happy to share some of his life story, and hey, I was happy to listen.

So after this was the album launch for Killed to birds at purple sneakers, and what an awesome night it ended up! On our way I had a fantastic stack right onto the ground and did a really good number on my knees, lucky by this point I couldnt feel a whole lot of anything so I just got up and carried on I'm thankful I was for the most part hidden in the shadows haha.
We got there and had flyers thrust in our faces at the doors and after politely refusing one the girl got pretty insistant so i opened my bag and showed her I had more than enough to keep me happy, so she seemed happy haha. So we headed upstairs pretty much off the bat, but it was pretty quiet so we had a smoke then headed downstairs to get some drinks and have a look around. Next thing I know boom and its crazy and there was a heap of people everywhere, chatted to a heap of interesting people, told everyone with ears it was my birthday and everyone was very nice lol. Had a good chat to ben Lucid again, and his rather cute friend, and to Mark again, and some kid with this crazy hair, and came across Jimmy again so needless to say I think that's also where alot of my night went, shoving eachother down onto couches, or into corners, or walls..or down stairways...haha it was just a heap of random fun!
a really top night

then saturday was nevereverland - just soo good.
were pretty hungover from the night before, so we decided against predrinks and i set into a pretty good routine once i got there anyway. met some crazy and fairly diverse range of people, some guys from wollongong showing me their war scars from battles, talks of guns being sold in back of cars, to people telling me there overseas stories, irish girls telling me the best places to travel in galway, and this very intersting guy telling me about some new drug he discovered - i had no idea but i nodded and pretended like i did.
ladyhawke was good, i really havent bothered to listen to much of her stuff, but it was good all the same. whitest boy alive really impressed me, i had it set in my mind i didnt acutally like them, but we decided to go have a squiz anyway and i really enjoyed it. maybe i just listened to a few off songs, or i was drunker than i though. they were good anyway.
klaxons were awesome, as i expeted, but seriously all the enegry came at once when the presets came on. i lost all the contents of my purse, lucky bon retrevied most of it. found $2. found $5. realsied it was my 5 dollars as my phone was laying a few cm away. man, i filmed a few clips of 3 of there songs and its so exciting the bvrowd was just eating it up. i dont actually know how much of it was live and how much was pre-recorded, i dont have any clue about that sort of thing, but even though sometimes i diddnt think they were really doing much, it was energic and crowd pleasing none the less.
after a quick cleanup we headed to floorspace and had a few drinks and chatted to some crazy foreigners and some crazy sydneysiders, but werent really there that long, by the end of it bon had this foul look on her face and refused to drink so i knew she was pretty keen to get out of there, i had virtually lost my voice from some seriously hectic chain smoking, and was ravenous for something other than the crumb jake from bluejuice had transferred from his beard to my face after a quick kiss and chat during an interval towards the end of the night.. oh man..lol

anyway ended up writing more than i thought but ill def always remember this weekend thats for sure!
what an awesome bday.
couldnt really do the content of this blog justice but got to appreciate an attempt anyway.

Twilight and broken toes

Liss and Karen came round today and gave me an early birthday present - the first Twilight book. I've heard so much about it I figure I should read and decide if it's worth all the hype.

Then I accidently (obviously) dropped a chair leg, with me still sitting in it, right on my foot and I think I've boken a couple of toes lol not even joking. Needless to say I have some puffy sore toes and I'm hoping I'm being a drama queen and that they aren't broken cos Nevereverland is this weeekend! And I'll obviously need to..walk.

YouCam, your my hero.

Dad and I got new laptops yesterday and I'm very impressed. We set them up on the dining table across from eachother and were busily organising away while now and again commenting on something, or asking how the others was working lol it was cute.

What I did find, in between naming pink cat clocks 'Geroge' and recording me and my brother singing 'We are Australian' (LOL) was YouCam. So halarious. Me and my brother mucked around on it for ages, then mum joined in, then, reluctantly, dad also. Many photos. I think they are really funny.

So last night I get a phonecall at 1:30am, miraciously, from Bonnie. WOAH didn't see that one coming. Long story short, she spent her night at Floorspace in the cross, had a great time, was very impressed. She also got free entry after running into one of the house DJs from Purple Sneakers she's been helping out which I though was pretty cool. For all the time Bon's put into handing out flyers and going to events to talk to people about The Purple Sneakers NYE House party @ Manning Bar Sydney Uni (lol shameless name drop) it's nice that she gets some of the perks that come with knowing some people in the industry!
So, good for her.

Anyway that about it.
Thanks Compaq.

Woahh, Ahhh

Yes, as the title suggests I'm listening to muscles, getting psyched for NEVEREVERLAND!
Only 2 weeks to go! Can't wait. That also means 2 weeks to my birthday which is exciting.

So I'm working 7-4 today. I did not want to get up when my alarm went off, had a shocking sleep I was so restless. So tomorrow is C's birthday, unfortunetly I forgot to get her present yesterday in light of all the mayhem that is Christmas shopping (40 minutes to find a parking spot, anoying crowds and general unrest lead to us turning around and going home - empty handed) and so maybe I will be heading to the kings for some drinks if she decides to go out.

Thursday me and Bon are heading back to Sydney so I can have a little visit and generally wreak the normal havoc we do when thrown together ;)
Let you know how it goes.
